The adult moth of this species is reddish brown, each forewing having a broad dark wavy band across each forewing near the base, and a dark mark extending from the costa to the cell ending in a hook shape, each outlined in pale brown. Each hindwing is plain except for a narrow pale secant across the tornus The moth has a wingspan of about 4 cms.

The species is found in New Guinea and Cape York, Australia.
